How do u get people to understand fibromyalgia?

I have fibromyalgia. I was wondering how I can get people to understand what it does to me. No one seems to understand how it makes me feel and some of the people don’t even believe me that I am in pain. What do I do?

I have severe fibromyalgia pain and the doctors and myself have tried several prescriptions and other methods to relieve it. I have some relief but it is not enough. I get terrible burning pain in my legs also.
Does anyone know or have any ideas what prescriptions work best for Fibro pain or other methods?

Just looking for general facts. What is the likelihood for a man with fibromyalgia passing on the condition to future children? Percentages, hopefully. I haven’t been able to find much on this subject.

I am a 28 year old Fibromyalgia sufferer. I wrote this poem after a few days of a flare up, and wanted to share how it feels. Dear you……I’m sorry Dear mum, I’m sorry That my house isn’t like yours That my washing piles up On all the bedroom floors Yes I could have brought it down But I didn’t, coz you see, I’d have nothing left to finish the job No more spoons left for me. Dear grandma, I’m sorry That the dinner plates aren’t clean I got through half the cups and bowls But that’s my limit seen. I selfishly made myself A brew before I started And now my hands can’t take the pain The task has got me thwarted. Dear school, I’m sorry That the kids again are late This morning took it out of me Third time this week I’m afraid. I know it’s not acceptable And it’s not the kids at fault But getting out of bed for me Is like an army assault Dear children, I’m sorry That I can’t play with you more But after ten minutes I have to stop My body is just too sore. I have had fibromyalgia my whole life, which has gotten worse since the birth of my son almost 3 years ago. I have tried exercising, but if I do too much, I get really sick. I was wondering if there are any other fibromyalgia sufferers out there that have had success with particular exercises and diets. Thank you very much!

Can Diet Coke cause fibromyalgia-caused backaches to get worse?

My Mother has fibromyalgia very severely and she has lots of backaches caused by it. She drinks way too many diet cokes, and the more she drinks the more backaches she gets. Could diet cokes be causing her fibromyalgia-caused backaches to flare up? I need to know because her aches keep getting worse. Can you all help me?

Does anyone have any sugestions on how to get a good night sleep when you have Fibromyalgia? I take my Ultram and Aleve before I go to bed. I fall asleep fairly easy but within a few hours I am awake and hurting. I have to get out of bed and move around and then I start all over again with trying to get some sleep. Some night all I get is 1 to 2 hours of sleep and it is taking it’s toll on me.
